Today we did yard work at my parents. We helped them build their waterfall for the pond. Kiely picked out rocks and then used cement to put them on. It was fun. She went swimming and after dinner we played tag for about 30 minutes. So PE was what we did today. ;) hehe. Tomorrow I’m planning on sitting down and doing some written work with her. Letters and numbers. I want to see how many she remembers. We are also going to read a few books after lunch and maybe watch a movie [we’ll see]. :)

Hello friends!

My name is Ashlie. I’m married to my best friend and high school sweetheart, John. We have two amazing and beautiful kids, Kiely and Jase. Kiely is our drama queen. She is almost 5 years old [July 18th]. She is intelligent, sweet and just a delight to have around. Jase is our little man. He is 9 1/2 months old [June 15th he will be 1]. He is a bit of a monster. He’s stocky, happy and has a great sense of humor.

I have been homeschooling Kiely for almost a year now. We started last summer but didn’t do too much since I just had Jase. She was in a preschool but it wasn’t going well. So I took her out and now she does amazing. We just really started getting into school work. I do preschool and some kindergarten things with her. We mostly do letter work [writing; saying; recognizing], numbers and shapes; gardening; cooking; arts and crafts; and household chores. Right now she is in charge of growing her very own Peruvian Daffodil. We are keeping a journal and we write in it every time she does something to it. It was 2 bulbs that DH and I bought her for Easter. Kiely planted them in a pot with some Miracle grow soil [I believe]. And she water’s them about every other day. She loves it. She checks them every afternoon to see if the soil is dry.

I am planning on us making kites and learning about them one week. I also want to do more work on ladybugs [she loves them]. We are going to do some more baking in the next couple weeks. I’m also going to make her a craft apron maybe just for a surprise. :) She’d love that.

We belong to a local homeschooling group [tristate home educators]! They are very nice and helpful.
